I usually don't post on things like this, but fuel prices affect buyers and sellers in all businesses either directly or indirectly. This article entitled "Consumer expert: Hurricane exposes need for more U.S. refineries says "Jamie Court, president of Foundation for Taxpayers and Consumer Rights, said the oil companies deliberately reduced their refining capacity in the 1990s to make more money. So when a disaster hits, he added, there is no reserve to tap into and gas prices skyrocket." Could this be deliberate manipulation of Supply & Demand?
As I enjoy reading about automotive advancements, I know some top automobile manufacturers are doing everything they can to improve gas milage. But, this article really gets me wanting alternative fuels. I hope this current AVOIDABLE situation with high gas prices will get many people wanting the same thing.
